My mother told me that, when we were living in Maastricht, my father once took me on the back of his bike over the Belgian border, two or three kilometers away. I have an undated photo from about 1952-53, on which I am sitting on the back of my father's bike. He used it to go to his office. In 1953 we moved from the border town of Maastricht to The Hague, the centre of administration in Holland. |
