On our way back from Israel to Holland a man took place next to us in the airplane. He had a black moustache and he wore a refined dark blue costume with thin white lines. Vronie told him that Israel is a beautiful country. The man nodded politely. Vronie asked him if he was from Israel. The man said he was an Arab. |

After 42 hours of travelling our bus arrived at the Russian border. I do not remember any detail of the border control. I think all of us had to leave the bus, as on our way back, and have our visa stamped. After the border we entered Viborg, the Finnish town that was captured by the Soviet Union after World War II. It is the centre of the region where Finnish culture arose, and where stories from the Kalevala took place, as I was told. We walked around. The town was totally russified. The Fins seem not to take steps to get it back. |
