Two of my sisters, Aafke and Gina, came with their family to the flat of my mother to say goodbye. I made too many shots with the video camera we just had bought. My youngest sister Gina, Peter and daughter Nikki left at 10.30 p.m. I took the camera away from my eye and absent-mindedly I put my lips at her mouth, a way of greeting that I had practiced with some friends, but was absolutely not in use in our family. "Now, this tongue kiss we will also just forgive!", she said, in a snappish tone that expressed that she would never forgive. I felt very embarrassed and coloured red. My tongue did not remember to be involved so, after she left, I touched with my finger my lips and my tongue in order to find out if she could have mistaken my lips for my tongue. Worst of all was that two times before something similar had happened (see border crossings nos. 730 and 737), which might point at the "also" in my sister's remark. I told myself that it could not have been accidents, that I just was a very dirty old man. |
